It's the whole goofy samurai thing, combined with his obsession with Setsuna and Setsuna alone. It's so corny. I can see him staying up late at night, rummaging through his wardrobe and stacks of manga, trying to put together a super hero/character motif.
It's bloody character assasination is what what it is. Like what happened to Bender from Futurama when he joined a "Pro" Wrestling circuit, and altered his persona when he became too popular. They're just trying to make Celestial Being look good.
well i can't deny the whole new persona thing has damaged his appearance somewhat, but his piloting skills more than make up for it. after all he's been shown to be the only one so far to be able to push 00 back. that has to count for something, cheesy costume or not.
I think Mr. Bushido looks COOL AS HELL and damn manly compared to the Meisters. His character is cool as hell too. I don't really get why people complain so much. Graham is Graham and Bushido Bob is Mr. Bushido.
If he weren't focused solely on fighting Setsuna, I wouldn't have as much a problem. Even corny and lame can be cool if done right, however the character's attitude just sucks and leaves no room for developement.

Welcome to "Every post-Char blond masked dude." I should point out I don't watch this show, but really, nobody stands up to Char. They should just stop trying with the blond masked dudes and be a bit more creative. Same goes for angst-ridden teen boy protagonists, but then again this is anime we're talking about. :(
