    多分CAさんに頼めばケーブルは出てきたと思うのですが、そこまでするほどでもないのでわからずじまいでした。

    Hang in There, Kogasa-san 3053

I think the flight attendant would have produced a cable if I'd asked, but it wasn't worth that much effort, so I remained ignorant.

I don't recall any iPods that used that sort of cable.... or any Sony Walkmans for that matter.

It almost looks like an ancient s-video plug that TVs used in the early 2000s.

Reader-added tags include "Actual image", "Mini-DIN" and "A connector even mechanic Kogasa doesn't know".

Docking Cable Plug 9 Pin Plug Aviation Connector GX 20 I believe.
Obviously you will not have one of these laying around at home, so it is a trick to have the passengers dish out more cash for a simple luxury.

Heck strike that suggestion. The pin configuration does not look to be a match..

Looks a bit like a mini-DIN in a non standard configuration.

A lot of older car stereos used something like that to interface to iPods since you couldn't do video and audio and control over a USB plug, so you'd need a cable like this to connect it. Seemed like a great idea but made obsolete pretty quickly with the change to Lightning.

I have a hard drive dock for old IDE disks. All-In-One, like this

For some inconceivable reason not only is there a transformer power adapter block on the power lead [ God Knows why, few external enclosures need more than a direct cable ] --- and you can see a CD there too, no doubt for Windows users only --- but that lead has a mini-din port for power.

One of the tiny needle-prongs inside got bent, and now it is a paperweight.

    I Don't Have One
So I'm flying Hong Kong Airlines this time, huh.
Oh, so you can display your iPod screen on the monitor.
.... What kind of connector is this?
