who's the damn artist

I don't know off the top of my head, but he did a bunch of art for Disgaea 2 (the news broadcast scenes). In fact, is this really Makai Kingdom? The archer, mage, and priest are all Disgaea characters. Adding their tags.

Yes; since they return in Makai Kingdom, though looking slightly different.

I'm pretty sure it's Takehito Harada, just departing from his usual style. I think he did all of the artwork for Disgaea 1, 2, Phantom Brave, and Makai Kingdom.

It's not Takehito Harada, it's toi8. And yes, this picture is from Phantom Kingdom.

This pic is actually from the in-game of Makai Kingdom itself. Every so often, when a new area of a map is revealed (especially in the random dungeons), a pic will appear and various conditions on the battlefield will change. If I remember right, this one signified that everyone on the field is prevented from moving for a certain number of turns.

Am I the only one surprised that the Healers eyes are open (they're usually ALWAYS closed).

That's in the Disgaea games. In MK I believe they have their eyes open. Also, no boy healers in MK.

And yeah, it's a random map in-game pic.

I notice no one added tags for the poor Professor. Or the Warrior Girl or Wizard in the background.
