Just because your friend says it is, doesn't mean he's a girl. In which case I think he's a guy, but we won't know until the creators tell us. If they ever do.
Are you listening to what they say in the series, or just what the translator gives to you? I don't remember Medusa saying Krona was her daughter, but only heard "child". Krona isn't really assigned a gender.
Dragon_Samurai said: well there has to be some other methods of telling whether Chrona is a girl or boy. aren't some terms gender specific in Japanese?
There are people who analyze shit like post #358960
I think if it was that easy, we would all know Chrona's gender by now.
have we also considered Ragnarok's harassment too. most of the time he's sexually harassing Chrona. do you think he's using crude behavior like that towards a boy?
I thought it was a guy in the begining, just very androgynous, but then they started calling it a 'her', but i never saw anywhere where it was actually specifically mentioned. Its just that all of a sudden it was 'she', before that i think they even said 'he'. which is why i think its mostly on the fansubbers
I'm not going to go back and watch the series to point out the exact episodes, but if you check around 25+, you'll note the actual words said in reference to Chrona- not just what the fansubbers use, but the actual Japanese- are feminine. I never paid any attention to it before that, so I don't know if it's changed, but if Medusa is calling Chrona "musume," I think I'd go with that.
oh my god...dont watch the dubbed anime you idiots, read the manga...when SHE was young, she was isolated from the rest of the world...her mom(medusa) injected her with black blood of ragnarok the demon sword to try to create the ultimate weapon. maka freed her from insanity by "erasing her circle" and allowing her to have at least some control over ragnarok....and besides, in the academy, her room is in the girls dorms^.^
Again, that's just the translators assigning a gender to Chrona just for the sake of convenience.
Also, don't judge based on his/her reactions to the sexual harassment...traps also react that way (Bridget for example) and that doesn't make their penis magically dissapear.
The japanese version DOES NOT SPECIFY a gender. For english viewers there HAS TO BE A GENDER so editors just choose one to make it easier on them, that doesn't prove anything however.
Only someone who can read japanese can find any proof of the manga refering to Chrona as a female, because the english version is just a minefield of false leads.
The creator of Soul Eater has specified even they don't know if Crona is a guy or a girl. Also, it's a running gag in the manga for characters trying to guess what Crona is.
