    Here we go, last page of issue 3. I’ll work out the final script for fourth and in the meanwhile we have marble’s new adventures.

    I dunno. If you go by the booklet for the original Mario bros, Bowser did a lot worse than kill people. It was like soilent green but instead of food it was blocks. Was it Mario that killed them by breaking them or was it Bowser for turning them into them?

    Neither, the whole reason for the "Bowser turned the people into blocks" lore was to justify random blocks giving out coins or powerups when hit. If you'll notice, the blocks that give out rewards don't break - those are the only ones that are actually people, and the coin/powerup is supposed to be them rewarding you for freeing them, somehow.
