It's pretty amusing in its own right that nobody even bothers to freak out that this "cat" is clearly some kind of supernatural phenomenon. I was expecting Renya not to think too hard on it, but Airi just not reacting to "the collar went through my cat without finding anything but hair"...

I assume it's like finding a box of condom in your parents' room. You just know that the right thing to do is turn around, walk away, and pretend you never saw that.

Renya is the one that picked up the abyss cat from the street, so he has got the right attitude to not judge it based on whatever it happens to be. If he's a man, he sticks to his decisions. As long as it's not hurting anyone, at least. I reckon Airi didn't really bother to think too much about it. Maybe she thought the dude meant the cat always slipped its head out of the collar, not wanting to wear one. As far as I know, a cat needs to have a collar from very young to get used to one. Although maybe it depends on the individual cat's personality.
