If I'm not mistaken Akkyu herself said in one of the official works that she should start making long-lived friends.

Everytime she is born anew, Mokou will nurse her while she is a little child, be her lover when she is grown up, tend to her when she is old, dies, and is born again....

Well, but I guess only a mix of step 1 and 2 will be possible, since Akkyu doesn't get that old anymore.

No, she dies whenever she finishes that generation's version of her history book.

I've only read that her lifespan is short, I don't think there is any evidence on specifically how long until each reincarnation

Yeah, her lifespan just gets a bit shorter with each reincarnation. The book doesn't really have anything to do with it, or she would have died after PMiSS.
