She is just a young girl, and a jealous one too. Once she learned that she wasn't the first girl on the guy's mind, she tried to break off her own feelings and avoided him. It really is most natural that she would have still have some very grave doubts even now. If he wants his confession to make any sense to her, the guy needs to put some fires out first.

The question is whether or not he can get her to sit still long enough to prove himself. This character arc could still end in a stabbing tragedy, so I hope all this cheering counts.

I'm eager to see how this goes, this character writing is pretty good.

Well, some people are voting "No", but I can understand them because...well, everyone wants their ship to win after all, and the characters are quite nice, I will pray for the author to make multiple endings but...who knows

I'm actually really impressed, honestly. The final tally ended up being, like, 60% Yes and 40% No. That's way more no votes than I was expecting.
