It wouldn't be Yamashiro unless some Terrible misfortune happened to her, and that roch being the one semi-positive constant being killed, would be perfectly in line for her.
Does Yamashiro really have bad luck, though? Nishimura knew there was going to be resistance in Surigao Strait. He pressed the attack after Fuso was taken out and Yamashiro was damaged. She didn't hit a mine, or get hit by friendly fire, or collide with another ship, or suffer a freak magazine detonation, or hit a whale or any of the other freak accidents that actually happened to naval vessels during the war. It was definitely horrible for the men onboard, but I don't know that Yamashiro was really any less lucky than any other ship that sank during a war.
Because the basis of her prominent bad luck trait was never from how she sank, but rather from what she went through as poorly-designed, poorly-maintained aviation battleship that no amount of modifications could salvage. Not to mention being assigned to any of the Fusous at the time was likened to pulling the short straw.
DAMN YOU, GOD!!AwawaAhhhh...I'm sick and tired of this godforsaken life...Kuku...!ANDREEEE!!flompfA-Are you alright!?Y-Yamashiro?WHY DO I ALWAYS HAVE TO SUFFER SUCH MISFORTUNE?!Sorry, Yamashiro!!I didn't mean...Why do I always...
