「ビンボォーッ♪ビンボー依姫、洗脳完了いたしました♥♥」

　真っ赤な褌につぎはぎだらけのリボンと黄みがかった白靴下、そして首と腕にビンボー銭のみを身に着けたビンボー教徒、『ビンボー依姫』が大きな産声を上げ誕生した。

「あらあら、素晴らしい姿になったわね。強い抵抗心の反動かしら」

「ビンボー♪ビンボー♪」

　不浄の体を曝け出しながらだらしのない表情で同じ言葉を叫び続ける依姫の姿には、先ほどまでの凛々しく高貴な月の姫の面影は微塵も感じられない。以前の依姫を知る人物が見ても同一人物だとは決して想像もつかないだろう。

「どうやら心からビンボーの偉大さを理解してくれたようね。さて、今の気分はどうかしらビンボー依姫」

　崇拝するビンボーミコの問いかけに対し、ビンボー依姫は崩れた顔をキリっと直しはっきりとした声で答えた。

「ビンボー！！最高の気分としか言いようがありません！体中を包み込むこのビンボー臭……もはや私にとってかけがえのない存在です！このような逸品を与えてくださったビンボーミコ様にはもう頭が上がりません！！」

　威圧感を漂わせたビンボーミコに過去の所業を蒸し返された依姫は、恐れを抱いたことでこころなしか身をすぼませながら本心から謝罪の言葉を口にした。

「そ、それにつきましては心からの謝罪をさせていただきます！！遠路はるばる布教に赴いてくださったビンボーミコ様に愚かにも刃を向けた非礼、どうかお許しください！！」

　必死に許しを乞う依姫。それでもビンボー教徒のポーズをいっぴとたりとも乱すようなことはしなかったのは、ビンボー教徒としての意地であろう。その心構えは正しく教徒の鑑であった。

　……しかしビンボーミコは含み笑いを続けるだけで、依姫の態度に返答することはなかった。

　ビンボーダンスとは、ビンボー教特有の礼拝手段の一つである。基本の姿勢はビンボーポーズからできており、ポーズを取ってそのままビンボーダンスを始めるのが教徒たちの通例である。
　踊り方はいたってシンプル。ビンボーポーズをとりながら身体を上下左右前後にめちゃくちゃに揺らしまくり、周囲に己の汚臭と汗を撒き散らすだけだ。

　ビンボーミコに忠誠心を示す為に依姫はとにかく踊り続ける。乳を上へ下へ、腰を前へ後ろへと振り回し、時折喘ぎ声を上げながら激しく踊り狂った。

一体どうすればビンボーミコ様は反応してくれるのだろうか？焦燥感を駆られた依姫の舞はさらに荒々しくなっていった。

　依姫の決死の行動はそれはそれは浅ましいものであった。

覚悟をもって答えた依姫とは対照的に、ビンボーミコの反応は淡泊なものであった。

　それからしばらく、ビンボーミコはにやついた表情のまま何かを思案していたが、唐突に手に持っていたステッキの足を地面に叩きつけた。
　辺りに大きな音が鳴り響いたが、依姫が動揺することはなかった。

　それからビンボーミコは依姫に対し今回の意図を説明した。もしも踊りの途中で私語をするようであれば、そのまま一生ここで踊り続けさせる気であったこと。踊り疲れ倒れるようであれば及第点としそのままビンボー教徒として連れ帰るつもりであったこと。無いとは考えつつも、仮に倒れることなく永遠に踊り続けるようであればその時は……

「そう。貴方は私の想像を大いに超えていった」

　ところが依姫はビンボーミコの予想の範疇を超え成してしまった。したらばこちらもそれ相応の対応はしなければならない。

「いいわ。そこまでの覚悟をもつというのなら、私は貴方へ一つの任務を与えましょう」

　依姫は感動のあまり声を出すことさえ困難になってしまった。敬愛し、崇拝するビンボーミコにその覚悟を認められたのだ。無理もないだろう。

　双方しばしの静止。そして依姫の心が落ち着いた頃を見計らって、ビンボーミコはその任務の内容を告げた。

「『貴方一人で月全土にビンボー教を布教させなさい。』これは貴方の罪への罰。だけどそれと同時に貴方への課題でもあるわ。当然失敗すれば相応のペナルティを負ってもらうけど……ね」

「ビンボー！ビンボー！寛大な配慮、大変恐縮でございます！！このビンボー依姫、必ずやビンボーミコ様の命を完遂させてみせます！」

　ビンボーミコ直々の言葉をもらったことで感極まり再びビンボーダンスを始める依姫。その瞳にはこれまでの比にならないほど強い意志が宿っていた。

「とはいえ一人でできる事は限られてしまうでしょう。だからその覚悟に免じて少しだけ力を分け与えるわ」

　依姫に期待して布教を命じたものの、確かに依姫はただの一ビンボー教徒である。教えを説き力でねじ伏せることは出来ても洗脳までするような力はもってはいない。なのでビンボーミコは自身の力の断片、未洗脳者をビンボー教徒へと改宗させる魔法の力を分け与えることにしたようだ。

「えっ！？びっ、ビンボー！貧乏である私に贈り物など、感謝の言葉もありません！ビンボー！ビンボー！」

　偉大なるビンボーミコから恩恵を授かるとなればいかなる信徒でも感極まり興奮してしまうのは明白だ。依姫もその例に漏れることはなかった。
　ビンボーミコから流れ込む不思議な温かさに包まれながら、依姫は今一度ビンボーミコへと忠誠を誓った。

「私が手を貸すのはここまで。あとは自分自身の力のみでビンボー教への信心を証明してみせなさい。……ビンボー紫」

　ビンボーミコがその名を呼べば、瞬時にスキマからビンボー紫が現れた。

　ビンボー紫はビンボーミコが幻想郷へ訪れた頃に洗脳された教徒の一人だ。元々は幻想郷の創設者の一人で賢者と呼ばれていたようだが、ビンボーミコの圧倒的な戦闘能力になす術なくあっさり敗北。無様にも信徒として洗脳されてしまった。今ではビンボーミコにその能力の利便性を買われ、直属の足として積極的に奉仕活動を行っている。ビンボー教でも重要なポストに位置しているが、洗脳の結果思考能力を欠いてしまい雑に扱われる場合が多い。だが本人はそれでも幸せそうにしている。

　そしてビンボーミコは役目は終えたとばかりに依姫に背中を向けた。

「最後に、貴方の心意気を聞かせて貰いましょうか」

　……と、そのまま帰るかと思いきや、おもむろに振り返りつつ依姫へ最後の問いかけをする。
ビンボーミコの鋭くもどこか期待に満ちた眼差しに貫かれた依姫だったが、決して臆するようなことなく己が信念をはっきりと応えた。

「ビンボーッ！私はビンボーミコ様にただ貧乏な民として暮らすことが最高の誉なのだと教えていただきました！ですので私は全ての月の民を私自身が洗脳してビンボーミコ様に捧げることをここに宣誓します！！科学の発展や技術の進歩など月の民には必要ありません。我々に必要なのは貧しい暮らしでありビンボーミコ様を崇拝する心なのです！それをお姉様にサグメ様にレイセンにも、ありとあらゆる存在に広めてみせます！」

　ビンボーミコは返事をすることはなかったが、確かな笑みで依姫を一瞥するとそのままスキマの中へと去っていった。

　依姫はその後姿をスキマが消えてなくなるまでビンボーポーズで見送り続けた。

「必ずや月布教の功績を上げる事を、ビンボーミコ様からいただいたこの首と腕のビンボー銭、そして完全不潔な私の体に誓います！ビンボー♥ビンボー♥♥ビンボォォォーーーッ♥♥♥♥♥」
時は少しして、月の都のとある屋敷にて……

　事態の進展を諦めた豊姫は自らの足で現場を調べる事を決断。二人の無事を祈りながら豊かの海へとゆっくりと近づいていく。

だんだんと大きくなる声。それに比例して豊姫の不安もどんどん大きくなっていく。

　拘束されてもなお豊姫は必死の抵抗をするが、それを押さえつけるレイセンに酷似した変態の力は元のレイセンの力とは到底思えないほど力強く、どれだけ抗っても振りほどける気配は無い。

「……貴方たちは何者なの？そもそも私をどうするつもりなの？」

　自分を拘束するレイセンのような変態の体から漂う異臭に耐える豊姫の質問に、依姫としか思えない容姿した変態は答えた。

　なぜこんなことになってしまったのか。信じたくなかった結末に豊姫は絶望に打ちひしがれてしまう。それでもどうにかして二人の目を覚まそうと豊姫は懸命に呼びかけた。

「目を覚ましなさい二人とも！今の貴方たちは邪な輩に操られているだけなのよ！」

「操られているとは心外です。私たちは、私たち自身の意思でビンボー教を信奉しているのです」

「ビンボー♪」

「ビンボーミコ様は愚かにもビンボー教を否定した私にも慈悲を与え、貧乏の荘厳さを説いてくれました。その時私は理解したのです。貧乏こそがこの世の神髄であり、光焔万丈なる世界の真理なのだと。考えてもみてください。あらゆる存在がビンボー教を信仰し、無駄な思想から解放される世界を。質素で貧乏臭く暮らし、不潔な身体で汗と汚臭をまき散らしながら生活をする、そして全てをビンボーミコ様に捧げるのです。これほどの幸せは他には存在しません」

「そんなものがこの世の真理であるはずがないじゃない……！」

　靴下で砂を踏みしめる音が近づいてくる。何もかも諦めた豊姫は無力感に包まれながら涙した。
