I just found out that Ai Kayano voice lines for some characters in GFL, AL, and AK (Platinum) are removed...Because of her visit to Yasukuni Shrine. Damn...
They're intact on Azur Lane's EN server. I'm hoping that this is just a CN-only thing.
Word goes they are undergoing negotiations to remove her voice from other versions of the games too.

Now, before this turns into another "bash China" post, I'm going to frame this in the proper context: For most Asian countries (East and Southeast), this act (visiting Yasukuni, declaring it in public, and then 'endorsing' the place on social media) is like honoring Hitler or Goebbels or Goering or Dirlewanger. Actually, wait, all of them combined together, because Yasukuni has multiple war criminals enshrined within it. So of course it's going to be problematic. The Koreans are also going to be pissed off with this. Philippines too.
Yasukuni Shrine is so problematic, even the previous two Japanese Emperors didn't visit it (after Yasukuni enshrined the war criminals, and after the second one became Emperor).
Though fault of this lies mostly on that idiotic priest who enshrined the war criminals in the first place (and now that they are enshrined, one can't exactly remove them). And the Japanese educational system for whitewashing their past, resulting in most Japanese not aware of how controversial Yasukuni is. Sucks to be Ai Kayano, but the blame on this lies on the shitty priest from Yasukuni who had the bright idea of enshrining those war criminals in the first place, creating this perpetual sore sticking point in relations between Japan and all her neighboring Asian countries.
You want someone to blame for this fiasco? Blame this asshole priest, who pretty much single-handedly pushed for the enshrinement of Class A war criminals against his colleagues' advice. Against the desires of the heirs of some of those war criminals too, for that matter. All for the sake of a petty political agenda (hint: whitewashing history again).

No wonder why history has a tendency of repeating itself again.
im pretty sure Kayano has no idea or probably never been strongly told to stay away from that shrine because that whitewashing idea from Japanese education. . Now it has come to this, since some ppl of this age choose to still bring up grudge of the past war as something normal, I can only react by not playing the damn game if they really remove Platinum voice in EN server. i dont wanna have anything to do with ppl who use past war crimes to blindly blame on a single vulnerable voice actress rather than raising awareness to the world about Japanese government in this matter. and im probably will stop playing any games from Chinese developers, because im tired with the hate drama in past few years involving their shits
