To be fair, EN technically isn't using the traditional "generation" title that JP and ID do. The girls have already mentioned that EN's not doing numbered gens and they've gone out of their way to avoid the word and correct themselves when they've said it.
We'll probably still end up using the term in wiki pages and such anyway since it makes things easier
