    The choice of armament aside, based on the equipment she's wearing (specifically the vest, helmet cover, radio pack and the types of grenades hanging there), I'd actually say this is more of a Vietnam War image than a World War Two image. The title actually backs this up, as the use of the word "Grunt" to mean a soldier began during that conflict. Changing the tags accordingly.

    Thank you I agree with you and had a few of these same thoughts, but my mind sees a Thompson and defaults to WW2

    A lot of WW2 guns were used in Vietnam, even by the US forces.
