(So, a connection I just now made while looking at this comic and now have to live with for the rest of my life - several gags in the original Powerpuff Girls show, as well as the designs that appear when Prof. Utonium imagines what would have happened had he not spilled the chemical X, establish that the Powerpuff Girls don't just Look Like That for style reasons, but actually are blobby creatures with no fingers, toes, ears, or noses in-universe. In other words, the Powerpuff Girls are literally puchis, with the canonical text of the show explicitly supporting this.
