    It wasn't explained in the story (and wasn't really relevant in the end), but apparently Murasa's knife weakness comes from the fact that sailors would banish/fight the murasa (which usually manifested as a strange light phenomenon under the water's surface) by sticking a knife or sword on a long pole and slashing at it.

    I really love both of the Stage 2 themes in WBaWC...! "Lost River" has such a sea-like feeling to it, it just made me want to draw some spectacles like this. You can really feel the romance for the sea. For the Murasa folklore, my source was "Sea Monsters" from Yanagita Kunio's "A Study of Life in Seaside Villages". For the ushi-oni of Iwami, my source was "San'in Folklore Series 10" by the San'in Folklore Association. (Moo~)
