I blame her experience at Yae's Publishing House with the Traveler as the reason for why she's going to take using this weapon about as seriously as any those books you gave her to read.
Still, if Skyward does happen to be your only option, don't knock it if you want to try her, but do get fishing for that R5 "The Catch" if you can't get her banner weapon and give Skyward to someone else.

The thing about Genshin (and Honkai) is there's a distinct lack of general-purpose high-end weapons. From the current weapons list, there's already roughly 4:1 ratio of 'specialized weapons' (weapons that will be better when used by a single unit due to their abilities) versus 'general-use weapon' (weapons that can freely be traded around since it can fit multiple roles). Early-released weapons like Skyward series , Jade series or Wolf's Gravestone belong to the latter, but things like Grasscutter's Light or Everlasting Moonglow is far too specialized to be used by anybody else that it deters players from pulling on weapons banner.

Low-spending simps still gonna simp for her specialized weapon. From the look of it, there's a lot of Raiden simps.

That's the problem honestly, it seems devs hadn't learn that lesson for long time and just wants to make people bleed cash to get a weapon for their beloved character.

Enough people are willing to pay for it, good enough reason for them to keep doing it.

Why wouldn't they? F2P players don't give money. They aim for the whales, not the little fish.
