Is it just me or is Tokyo adding more and more to Asakuras body mass both bra size and around the mid section every time he draws her?

Are you saying that Ryoko is G-Tokyo's "Rei"?

I'm guessing he can't draw passed a certain breast size without fecking them up cause one of the last things he uploaded on his site was good, under the 3way preview thing. Dear lord the hands to. Maybey this is one of his rough moments but I felt I should upload it anyway since most of Tokyos work has been uploaded here to begin with.

I wouldn't go that far, Mogudan can still draw a normal proportions, he just has his own consistent (if limiting) style now.
Even Tokyo's loli get more plump and badly exaggerated as he goes on.
He may get better at huge girls later on and keep his older body types, but now she looks more like a hard plastic doll with a replaced head.

Stop, or revert to the style he used at like, the 50-70 range. That would be godly.

This though... ugh. I'm surprised it even got uploaded.

And yet, 100, 99 and 98 were fine. Awesome, perhaps not, but not this, and they were decent, not breasts down to the belly button (of which there are two...) Or double wide stuff. I really just hope that this is a joke of some sort or another.

Sums up the majority of all of your posts whining and crying about this picture. Can't you guys read the translation? Its an exaggerated image.

I swear, anytime an artist draws a picture of a character that doesn't have Dead or Alive floating breast physics and a flat stomach, we have to have a debate about how they've 'turned to crap'. Kind of like the other day with the shitstorm over this pic post #448477

Trying to stop people from bitching on the internet, hmm? Good luck with that.

Also, try looking around, compared to Tokyo's other work, this is bad. And the last time I checked, it takes a lot more than "Is this normal?" to infer that the image is some sort of joke.

And how so? Oh yeah, the saggy breasts. Otherwise, character design and overall quality is the same as all of the rest of this artists work.

Oh, do you mean compared to this?

    Or maybe this?

    Or how about this?

This artist does tons of 'joke' or 'alternate' images. Just face it. You hate the saggy breasts and want to call the image crap because of it. Aside from that point, the image follows the same design the artist has been developing up to this time. If you don't like it, then skip over this picture. Otherwise it just sounds like you're complaining that it doesn't conform to the 'perfect image' of Ryoko you have built up in your mind.

Ugh... alright, fine, since you've brought up these points:

    1) Yes, three or four images of of over 200 is "tons" of joke images. Jeez, why didn't I know better? It's not like this isn't part of a trend that myself and other fans of his to draw not only her but every character with freakish fucking anatomy and proportions.

    2) I love that you put words in my mouth, by saying that I've called this image crap. Do I like it? No. Is it crap? Hardly. It's better than what the vast majority could do. BUT! Is it good by Tokyo's standards? No, and that's the point that people are trying to make.

2a) That brings me to a second point. You keep bring it back to the breasts. But that's not even what bothers me the most, you keep passing over the fact that it looks like she has a huge damn surgical scar going up her midrift. Tokyo has even admitted in the past that he's beginning to draw his characters a little too weighty. And yet, you say that this is the evolution of his work? Really? Then how come his work vacillates between decent looking work and this?

    3) Don't give me this perfect image bullshit. I may be just another name on the internet, but I've saved so many damn pictures of Ryoko that it'd make your head spin, I'm talking nearly 10,000, and some of them are fucking god awful by other people's standards. I've even defended other pictures of Tokyo's that people haven't liked, but this is just too much.

    4) And finally, whether you like it or not, people have a right to complain, and this includes you complaining about the fact that we complain too much. You say just skip over this picture? Well, I did when I first came across it on his site, and it actually surprised me that it got uploaded here, because I thought it wouldn't be to danbooru's standards. Someone else will make that call, just like someone made the call to upload it. But when I see a picture by my favourite artist that is like this, it kills me, so I'm not going to stay quiet about it. If you don't like that, then take your own advice and don't look at the comments.

Yes people have the right to complain. I'm not trying to say you shouldn't. However, as you have clearly shown even in this post, your views of why you think the picture isn't good are being backed up by weak comparisons such as 'decent looking work and this'. Once again implying that this image is bad because your opinion is the image doesn't meet your standard for what is 'decent'. This is also where I originally got the idea that you were comparing this image to the 'normal' looking images of this artist, like a lot of people in this thread.

Originally I was pointing out that a number of people seemed to be defaulting to stating Tokyo was terrible, just because the artist drew a picture they didn't like. Review the above posts.

As for the image itself, I still think its an exaggerated image. One of the artists many, that is meant to portray some extremes you see in hentai fanart. And what you commented on, the thing that looks like a 'surgical scar', is something I find quite often in some artists style put on their normal designs. Characters are drawn so thin and with such a flat stomach that they have a line drawn between their breasts and stomach. Like everything in this picture, the artist may have just been exaggerating it by choice, which again, was the reason I thought people complaining about the image was rather like people complaining about Star Wars. What will it accomplish if the artist wants to do something different once in a while, or if they're changing their style completely?

    Alright, enough of this.

If you're right, and this is a joke image, then absolutely none of this bitching will have mattered, and you can feel free to say "See, I told you so." Whereas, if this isn't a joke image, and is part of a continuing trend, well then, all the bitching and moaning in the world won't make him go back.

I somewhat resent you saying that this image somehow doesn't live up to my seemingly lofty standards. Because believe it or not, I've still saved it, and in comparison to other images, it's still well drawn. But what you seem to be implying is that holding any artist to a standard is like some sort of atrocity when it's not. Yes, I'm comparing it unfavourably to his other work: because it's HIS other work! If someone handed in a portfolio to an art school where the majority of his work was highly, highly above standards, but a couple of the pictures where even just, acceptable. Would you blame the art teacher for asking "What the hell where you thinking?"

While I'm sure that this image is aesthetically pleasing to some out there, from the response it would also seem that there is an equal resistance to this evolution, if it is one. This is because to a lot of people, this isn't a step forward, it's a step back: it's either trying to show off anatomy at the cost of it being anywhere near pleasant to look at - once again in regards to people that feel that way - or it's trying to be funny, once again while losing the audience that appreciated his earlier art.

Also, I'm not saying that Tokyo is shit, never did, never will. Even if this is the future, and 90% of people stop considering him good, well then, he had a great run, better than some of the other artists we've seen. He's done amazing work, including doujins that I think are the best Asakura stuff out there period. But if this is where he's going, then while I am still indebted to him for his past work, I can't support where his future work is going.

Can this argument be over now?

I'm not looking to say 'I told you so'. My original intention was just to try to point out that people should stop calling the artist horrible just one image was drawn differently from the artists main style or had features that they didn't like.

I think the reason we had this debate was because you were thinking the focus of my comments were on the quality of the artists work, when that was only one point out many I brought up to back up my original point. And even then, I still say that judging the quality of an artists work is subjective. I do understand that you think it isn't as good as the artists past work and I even agree that I personally don't like the exaggerated breasts/muscles (or the oddly shaped small hands). But I still wanted to get the greater point across.
