It's quite true, you know.

Caterpillars are adorable little creatures that start out looking kind of ugly then turn into beautiful butterflies.

While kittens start out as the cutest most adorable things in the world and then go though an odd reverse process to turn into spiteful little bastards named "cats"

It's so that you don't punt them through a window while they're still small enough that you won't hurt yourself doing so. It's a safety mechanism.

If kittens were as big jerks as adult cats were, there wouldn't be any adult cats.

(Note: I love cats, but by god, are they *dicks*.)

Awww, they're not so much dicks as they are consumate scavengers who have a selfish instinct bred into them.

Besides, cats are smart enough to be taught the rules, they just only follow them as long as you consistantly enforce them, and they think someone is looking.

So in short, I love cats... and dogs... and turtles... and mice... and snakes and spiders and most small mammals or reptiles, really...
