Elena isn't Nubian because the Nubian empire was in Sudan. Elena is from Nairobi, Kenya.

Very good use of color and lighting in the pic overall.
I did notice one slip-up, though: the eyes. The lower eyelids are done such that it looks like she hasn't slept in quite some time (either that, or she has an injury or infection).

Also, the fish is crying.
