This is as close as to Cthulhu envisioned by Lovecraft as it can possibly get. It is supposed to be very difficult, if not nigh impossible, to accurately describe Cthulhu. The best humans can come up with is octopus-head with bat wings and humanoid body.

well given that he literally drives people completely bat-fucking-shit insane, its understandable that mere mortals can't truly comprehend his true form and settle for vague descriptions from survivors who've seen him
