Yeah in Japan it was released as Red and Green so in the games and manga he is called Green and she is called Blue. But because we got Red and Blue and switched it for American releases.

Besides, there's no Squirtle-stealer in the games (unless you count GameSharkin' it to let me pick up that leftover Ball).
