comment #14098 lol, I just noticed that comment #14131 No, they're guys in the manga and according to shiba in the game, but in the anime they're girls otherways they wouldn't have a reason to cover their chests with the... what ever it is
If they aren't girls they have very feminine appearances and mannerisms, which isn't to say most bishies don't. Their names are Dorii and Gura though, which tend to lean more toward feminine.
And I see a bunch of rabid fans trying to forcibly change their gender in order futetilely save face from themselves, all because they suddenly realized they'd been fapping to, *GASP* a a pair of Trap-chan twins.
And I see a bunch of rabid gay fans trying to forcibly change their gender in order futetilely save face from themselves, all because they suddenly realized they'd been fapping to, *GASP* hetrosexual sex.
comment #14916 They can be what you want, therefor they aren't trap, gay, hetrosexual, or w/e. As a person who haven't played the game and only saw the anime, i never had any reason to think they are male untill i heard they were in the game. I trust my judgement and i know that they can be feminine male, but considering the context this scene was displayed in, i find them female by any standart, and the game means nothing at all to me. I'm watching the show and not playing the game, so if you want to prove they are male, find such proof from within the show (and if you don't believe genders *can* change when changing media, then you really are dense).
You really think Oboro would be so relaxed and casual around them if they were female? I mean... we're talking about Oboro here... Note that he wasn't totally freaking out while talking about it, nor was there evidence in the anime that he was freaking out when he woke up...
No, he was actually boasting about it, but that doesn't mean anything (but if they were males, i would expect Hakouro to be a bit uncomfortable. Yet again, it might be said the other way around). Myself i thought this whole "are they male/female" would end after this scene, but i see i was wrong. Yet, i still hold my view that they can be what you want, so don't force any opinion on others. Besides, its drawn, its not like its real actors, so the gender is strictly decided on behaviour and looks so there isn't any reason to continue arguing. They are what they are to you, you may fap now.
I agree that the most we can do is have opinions since there is no official word to date that indicate that those twins are female or male, but "gender is strictly decided on behaviour and looks?" oh boy, have you check out Bridget from Guilty Gear? Pretty feminene right? but noooooooooooo, the people who design this character HAD to make Bridget a her. Talk about a waste of fantasizing material. Bottom line is any character can be anything (yeah, anyTHING!) the designers and all that beauracracy say they are, and when they don't say anything (or show anything, if you know what i mean) you can assume nothing at all, not by their look, not by their sound, and not even by behavior. p.s. hey, maybe we can be "official" by editting wikipedia, if enough people agree on it, it's true, right? are you guys gonna leave me hanging here, i say right?
excuse my over enthusiasm of so wanting to make Bridget a her that i mistyped it. It should be a "he," otherwise the whole argument doesn't make sense, and damn it, why does it have to be a "he?"
You didn't quite get what i meant by that quote, i meant it from the viewers point of view, not from the show's view. If i saw an online pic of Bridget with his cloths on, and i wouldn't know who he was, i would assume he is female. And then someone would come and say "Hey thats a dude, you're a closet homosexual", or at least suggest that. But in the end its lines and color, not actual people, and since there is no penis on my monitor, i will continue to count that char as a female. Just like if someone would make a drawing of <your fev female char> with a penis, it wouldn't make her male in your mind in the next pic you see of her. Same goes the other way around, of course.
I don't know why you people argue over their gender its perfectly clear their boys. They act, speak and dress as boys. If they're girls in the anime, it's beacause of censorship or whatever. But it's damn obvious they were intended to be male.
As far as the anime goes, I have some evidence towards then being female. They have tails. Go back and look through the show, the males have ears but no tails; these two have ears and tails. I maybe wrong because I only looked through ep. 18 for it (only one on my hd), but it is an interesting topic to ponder.
No. Not remotely true. Most of the lead males have smaller ears than the women, and their tails are hidden, true in the game and the anime. There are many extra males that have tails and the larger ears, especially from the mountain village. (As even mentioned by other people in this thread)
For fucks sake. If you don't care if they're boy/girls when you fapped to them, then you don't care. But you can't go and say they're sexually female just because you want to. There's no precedent for it. FMP's twins are unrelated.
All i'm saying, noone has any proof from the series that they are male, and if anyone will find such a thing i will drop the case. Otherwise please stop saying "They are boys, don't you dare argue about it"
I'm finaly going to join the frey after watching this thread for a while. We've seen all the evidence that they're male in the game. But what about the Anime? The only evidence given is from the game, everything else has been speculation. Show me something from the anime that says their men. The screen shot we're argueing over is from the anime, don't give game caps and say thats good. The argument was never (really) about the game, it was the anime. So stay on topic and give evidence from the anime already.
Not that I care what they are, it just makes my head hurt to see someone say "what is this here?" and have the answer be "look over there".
Okay. So I randomly picked an episode > 1d18 Dice> 4
And listened to the scenes where Dorii and Guraa say things. At 12:50, while begging Hakuoro, they refer to themselves as males.
But I know the real secret of the anime. Hakuoro had a sex change, that's why he hasn't boned any of the girls yet. To believe this, you must ignore his use of pronouns, mannerisms, voice, the look of his character, the many consistencies between the game and anime, and figure they just felt like changing something to fuck with people.
I refer to the game because Dorii and Guraa speak much more often in it, and the anime is obviously closely related to the game. In the anime, they go whole episodes without either being visible, or withotu saying a work. By every appearence I can see, they are exactly the same character between the anime and the game: gay shota archers. For some reason, a lot of people want to ignore the consistencies between the game and anime and change their character to something that's not true.
Further, it seems pretty fucking hopeless when you post something with the character saying 'yes, we're boys.' oboro saying 'dude, they're boys...' and Hakuoro having fallen for the trap, and people still deny it.
I'd really just be happy if this stops getting aged though.
Fine Rolo, it would be easier if you read what i wrote. I'll respond to each paragraph you wrote by order, and back off from this argument.
"they refer to themselves as males." I do not know japanese, so i can't just believe you translated it properly. And since you already went through all the trouble of posting pics from the game and translating them there, i would appriciate if you could do the same here, since this is maybe the proof i requested ("not from the game").
"Hakuoro had a sex change" This just shows you didn't understand what i was talking about. I was saying everyone was free to decide on their own the gender, and NOT be told by other people what the gender is. If you want Hakuoro to be female its ok, but don't portray it as a fact. (i know its a joke, please read carefully). Also, believing Guraa and Dorii are female isn't ignoring their "mannerisms, voice, [or] the look of [their] character", vice versa, it's using only those (i haven't seen one penis, thanks).
"I refer to the game" And i don't, so if you keep doing it this conversation won't work. The genders CAN change. The reason of why this could happen is because *most* fans would like it that way (and they haven't ruined it for gay males, this thread as proof).
"pretty fucking hopeless" Thats what happens if you ignore the main content of posts, that are saying (repetedly) that proof from the game != proof from the show.
Now please, give it a rest already, let us have our way and you have yours. I don't know what's your thing with ruining people's fantasies, but at least stick to topics where you have full proof. If the show suddenly adds a conversation where they are found male, then it was a tarp. Does that make me gay? Not at all (ignoring the fact that i haven't fapped to this). So really, i don't see why you have such a problem with this.
comment #15266 "Bokutachiha"? Do you mean the "Boku" part? My japanese is rusty, so I don't know if that whole thing is one word, or if you are just refering to the boku part. I do hang out with the local japanese kids at college because of the anime club. I haven't heard anything that leads me to believe "Boku" is said only by guys. I'm gonna have to agree with the other people and tell you to stop ruining our fun. If we want them to be girls, let us.
Okay, the fact that they say "Bokutachi" is not conclusive evidence, as it is fairly common these days for girls to use the pronoun boku. On the other hand, in anime, gender speech is more strictly adhered to than in real life. In addition, it seems to me that the twins use of "bokutachi" is in fact a use of it as a male pronoun rather than just a general pronoun, especially with the show's setting.
I think that Dr. Fine Rolo is right, but since there isn't totally conclusive evidence go ahead and believe what you want. Just please stop aging this thread.
I would like to say that since they were guys in the game, dont the female supporters carry the burden of proving they are female? Sure, I dont see much evidence that they are guys, but I dont see anything for them being female in the anime either.
Anonymous1> you got cocks in my loliporn Anonymous2> shit, I did? Anonymous1> you got loliporn in my cocks! Anonymous1> you know what, cocks and loliporn just happen to go together. but cocks ON loliporn is no longer loliporn. Which is what they are angry about
comment #15285 No, because we aren't saying "THEY ARE FEMALE", we are saying "The are what they are, and it doesn't metter". The fact that there isn't proof either way confirm this. What if, think about this for a second, they are genderless? Who defines a gender in anime? The creators, right? What if they haven't said in their boardrooms "Let's make them female" or "Let's keep them male", what if they said "Let's give fans some fun guessing what they are!" without actually deciding on a gender? Makes this whole discussion useless, doesn't it?
comment #17210 I suggest you look again, many of the extras have tails. Most of the men could keep them in their pants for all we know, but for certain some of the other men have tails.
Umm. okay I don't know the game or anime at all, never seen either of them so I have no vested interested in one camp or the other here but I thought i'd chime in one what I've noticed that some of you are saying. When you spend time trying to make allowances by saying "maybe they do 'this'" refering to something not shown you're making an assmuption on something not based on fact. If you;re trying to determin their gender in the cartoon the only allowable evidence should be what is shown in the cartoon and not guessing the maybe some male characters hide their tales if it's not expressed as factual element of the show. In the absense of concrete evidence you must make a determination based on the path of evidence that requires the fewest leaps of judgment. In this case it seems they were meant to be indeterminant androgenous characters that are never specifically labled. It's more fun that way, it's an element designed to add spice to the viewing experience.
Of course if they actually do at some point highlight their genitals with neon lights one way other the other yeah you have your answer but with this much debate it's obvious they havent dont that, atleast not yet.
LOL ... I couldn't stop laughing whenever I found people arguing about this.
OK let's make this clear : They're Female both in Game or Anime.
In Anime version... you should've found the clue. In Game (both in PC CD version DVD version or the one that ported to console), they identify themselves as a male. Hakuoro might believe it. They do that because They won't Hakuoro and Oboro to treat them as a female. They hide her true identity to make Hakuoro let them join the battle freely (as a guy of course). The anime version just want to confirm that the they are a girl that hide their identity as a girl.
There boys in the Game and as far as i know there also boys in the Anime, its kinda hard to tell in the anime and its mostly left upto personal opnion.
In the game, the twins are definitely male. Early on, Hakuoro makes a remark to Oboro about "twin girls" to which Oboro asks whom he's referring to. When Hakuoro says "Dorii and Guraa" Oboro says that he thinks he has made a mistake. Dorii and Guraa happen to be passing, so Oboro calls them over. He tells Hakuoro, plainly, that the twins are male. They also confirm this. Hakuoro has trouble believing this, and so the twins offer to strip and show him. Hakuoro panics and refuses, but notes that the twins seem quite disappointed that they don't get to strip. Hakuoro apologises to them for the misunderstanding and they go back to what they were doing. He stands there pondering for a while. It seems that he still has difficulty believing they're male, and says to himself: "I did want to check them a little bit..." Eruruu then walks in, having heard him, and starts teasing him about his sexuality. There's no ambiguity about how they refer to themselves - Oboro and the twins both state that Dorii and Guraa are male.
Interestingly, a lot later on, when Hakuro is visiting Eruruu and watching her work, Oboro enters the room, and asks if Eruruu has it ready yet. Upon enquiring, he discovers that Oboro has a hangover. Oboro explains that last night the twins plied him with drink, and his memories of the night are all jumbled. All he knows is that when he woke up, the three of them were sprawled on the floor, totally naked. Hakuoro notices that Oboro seems to get quite red while he's saying this, and decides he doesn't want to know any more.
So, that scene occurs in both the game and anime, and in the game, the twins are male. The anime is based on the game, so it seems reasonable to assume, unless there is evidence to the contrary (which I have been unable to find) that the twins are indeed male. If anyone wants to believe or fantasize that the twins are female, fine, but officially (according to Leaf) they are male.
comment #50558 I've already told them and posted the screenshot (Check out the dorii or guraa tag). They don't care. Just let the thread stay dead so I don't have to watch them try to argue their fantasy again.
Dear God..peopel are STILL argueing this??? I have seen no proof that they are female anywhere. They even LOOK male in the anime (just liek in the game) and refer to themselves in the masculine sense. I also keep hearing the 'tails' argument....well that has been shot out of the water.... I have heard the arguement that we havent seen their penises, so the must be female...total BS. It is very clear that they are both males....the anime director probably chose not to specifically say "male or female" as to rouse interest in the game. But if they were female, they wouldnt be in the heat of battle like that, or go on dangerous missions. Hakuro wouldn't allow it, he would just send Oboro alone.
"Dori and Gura are twin archers serving under Oboro. There are several ways to tell them apart: Dori has purple eyes while Gura's are blue, and the bottom part of Dori's clothes is blue while with Gura they are red. Their gender is difficult to ascertain, even by other characters. In the game, Oboro and the twins themselves state that they are male. This scene was not adapted in the anime version, and no mention of their gender can be found in the anime itself. However, in the DVD Q&A segment "The Hows and Whys of Utawarerumono", Hakuoro directly addresses the question of their gender, openly stating that the twins are male and heavily implying that their feminine behavior is a result of their traumatic past. In both versions of events, Dori and Gura get their lord Oboro drunk, resulting in Oboro waking up with the twins in his arms and finding that all three of them are naked. In the conclusion of both the game and anime, they stay with Oboro as he travels the world."
