its a mistake everyone makes. first translation for the original games I read made him a girl, some old fanart I've got in my collection is of him as a girl. hell, manga even uses it as a plot device, has Gold trying to ask him out before he discovers the trap status

I want to say it is a pun. Nosepass almost sounds like "no pass" as in the person who probably drew this did not approve of Natsume's new outfit.
