遥か天上を飛行したり、搭載力が高かったり。まぁ何といってもぺったんｋ…じゃなかった空力的に大変配慮されたボディ形状ですので。

10,000ポンドの爆弾を抱えて10,000マイルの距離を飛行する10×10ボマー構想に基づいて設計された全翼機です。
全翼機は大きさの割に運動性が高かったり、不整地での離着陸性能が高かったり、翼面荷重を抑えて搭載量を増大できたり、燃料スペースを充分確保できる上空気抵抗が少ないので航続距離を伸ばせたり。

でも、コントロール不能。

とてもたくさんのメリットがたった一つのデメリットで台無しだ！ ふしぎ！

でもめげずに作り続けてB-2完成させたノースロップさん素敵！

Title: Ten(shi) x Ten(shi) Bomber
This bomber suits her. Its high altitude capability for flying the distant heavens, its huge load capacity, and more than anything else the way that just like flat chest...no wait, scratch that. The reason is its body shape made with great consideration towards aerodynamics.
The flying wing that was designed based on the concept of a 10x10 bomber that could carry 10,000 pounds of ammunition and fly 10,000 miles.
The wing has great maneuverability for its size, capable of take-offs and landings on uneven terrain, and by keeping wing loading to a minimum the load capacity is increased, there's plenty of space saved for fuel and low air resistance increasing the flight distance.
But...it is impossible to control.
There are so many good points, but that one flaw makes it all for naught! It's so bizarre!
But for not getting discouraged and pushing on through to ultimately complete the B-2 I think 'Jack' Northrop is just wonderful!

Using keystones as bombs? Talk about clever.
