    Wasn't there the belief that if they lose their head they die, you can do what you want to the body but keep the head intact?

    In most cases and stories. Regeneration is fine and possible as long as your brain is intact. The head can take a few hits, just so as long as your brain is functioning, it'll do the auto-heal.

    But her umbrella broke (see parent post). And isn't that like, her vessel?

    "This is Suwako!" the radio crackered. "You must fight the youkai!"
    So Sanae gotted her ghoei and blew up the wall.
    "SHE GOING TO KILL US" said Nazrin
    "I will shoot at her" said Kogasa and she fired the danmaku . Sanae bombed at her and tried to blew her up. But then the ceiling fell and they were trapped and not able to kill.

    Actually, the only way to kill a Youkai with brute force is decapatitation... meaning in this story, it's bye-bye Kogasa...

    This was epic... until the dialogue.
