I think it's pretty obvious. Shou was looking for a jeweled pagoda and Rinnosuke has it, etc.

According to the tags on the original Pixiv page, this is actually Nazrin (though why it looks like she has cat ears I have no idea.)

Nazu had to work off the payment to get the Pagoda from Kourindou, basically.

Given how gay the Touhou pairings are and the shady theories regarding Rinnosuke's sexuality (like The sad truth of Gensokyo pool) I'm more surprised that there is literally no Rinnosuke x Unzan arts.

Huh. Now that you mention it I wonder if this belongs in the "Let's Make Touhou Kids!" pool. I mean if that's Nazrin it just looks like her in Rinnosuke's outfit

There are some Rinnosuke x nazrin fanarts. But the quality is questionable, if you'll ask me.
