Again, I must say, all the hate for the new characters/redesigns, just a little silly. I did laugh, but still, way too much hate and rage.

I'm pretty sure this is a parody, but after seeing all the fan wank surrounding the redesigns, I can't be too sure.

Pokemon trainers are traditionally 10 years old so a 8 year old appearance wouldn't be too far off, really. The redesigned one looks perhaps a bit older simply because of small stylistic difference..?

(Anyway, for what it's worth, I like both designs and I think it's cool to see how the art has progressed over the years. All this hate is silly.)

Yeah, it's gone from strangely cube-headed kid with clothing that looks like clothing and a backpack that looks like it could hold stuff to strangely-tall "ten-year old" kid with stuff that looks skin-tight and (as the picture mentions) a bag that's so small, it must have some sort of portal to Hammerspace considering the amount of crap you can throw into it.

I'm not one of those fan-wankers who reminisces for the old days (Sapphire was my favourite game) but the art for the boys in the first games made it more than apparent that they were ten year old boys. Okay, it was a bit weird, but the recent art makes Red look like a teenager (who, granted, still wore clothing that was semi-realistic) and Gold look like... well, that.

We need comparisons for the other dudes too. That would be sick.

I lol´d...Well...I have to admit that Sugimori´s Gold/Hibiki have the coolest features.

I hate the new look.. he just looks gay! the old look just look like he would kick your ass.. Especially your Rival silver.. they really screwed up his new look.

Ethan looks fine; Soul, however... He's cocky/confident-looking enough, but his hair kills him. By removing the length, they added fruitiness, changing untamed hair into a hairstyle.

i like the older design better but the cube looking head and sadistic grin makes him look older than he actually was, like a Professor Oak brother-in-law =/

On the bright side Ethan looks more skinny, right?... also, interesting that there isn't anything positive tosay about Ethan's shoes in gsc, but there's negative feedback on his hgss shoes...
