My design for this year's Fairy Vials Mermay event! <3This was such a fun event to be apart of! I've never drawn or designed a mermaid before so this was such an interesting experience.~ I knew I wanted to do something with lace to represent the way the waves roll up and crash and turn into that beautiful foamy white mist. Given that detail, I thought it would be best for her to live above the water, soaring through the sky just as the waves do. Flowing wherever the breeze takes them.
Little fun fact, her wings are actually inspired by the flying fish's wings!~
