It's as if the larger one is maintaining indifference on account of the smaller one. The account itself...hm. Maybe a sort of training (whether the they-are-one-in-the-same thing from above, I'unno); the small one must endure the torments being given, with no emotion, no glee, no remorse, by the large one.
