    Mouse over text: Knuth Paper-Stack Notation: Writw down the number of pages. Stack them. If the stack is too tall to fit in the room, write down the number of pages it would take to write down the number. THAT number won't fit in the room? Repeat. When a stack fits, write the number of iterations on a card. Pin it to the stack.

    I used this to estimate how big Graham's number is, I estimate that the iteration count would be around 100. I can't tell if that number is too big or too small.

    I used to calculate this was 8.5 x 11 in paper with a thickness of 0.005 in and a room 10 ft x 50 ft x 50 ft. I also assumed that the ink had no volume.

    No, this is not the biggest number I know of. For example tree(3) is infinitely bigger, probably. We don't actually know the number of digits in either, so tree could actually be smaller.
