Not every fangirl is into yaoi, but I always get the impression that fangirls are more zealous about shipping than fanboys. Probably has something to do with the image of guys arguing about who should be with other being kind of funny to me.
@Lightning he's in sage mode. They just showed him in sage mode in the anime. Plus sakura got a little emotional because of recent events. So that is why this image exists. It was taking canon events and adding that little relationship spin to it.
