For folks browsing the Current Events pool: this was posted the Monday after the Attack on Titan anime finale aired in Japan.
Does that count as a "current event"? I'd expect the pool to be more for stuff that actually makes the news, not every time a new show airs/ends. If we added every post referencing something like that the pool would be pretty bloated.

Current Events pool was meant for art that made in relations of certain events happening. It doesn't need to be a popular event or something that made into the news.
Heck, the pool description outright states: "A pool for images that reflect current events in the world" and despite this pool has existing over 17 years it only has 10 pages of entry (depends on how many thumbnails you put in one page, but hey).

The phrase "current events" is normally understood to mean important events. Literally everything that happens is a "current event" if you leave out the "important" part. That's why it has less than 2000 images in 17 years, because we traditionally haven't classified just anything that happens in the anime sphere as a current event.
Look at the posts of the first few pages, they are entirely images referencing real world events happening at the time, not the airing of anime finales. This is why all of our pools suck, users are afraid to touch tags but they'll add anything to a pool.

Many of the pics in the pool, right in the first page, are memes inspired by fairly minor bits of news. See post #1195194, post #531699 or post #1461831. There is no reason to gatekeep "current events", especially when AoT is a major part of current popular culture.
To be honest, while you guys are talking it's not a bad way to die, I find myself at awe how these titans are walking up right with such huge... uh.... well, breasts.
