Well, to be fair Soul Eater Excalibur grants the wielder a huge boost in power (enough to make an ordinary student strong enough to defeat three teachers IIRC), flight, and the ability to move at lightspeed whereas Fate's Exclaibur is really just a massive anti-fortress gun (it has other, minor abilities but the big blast is really the most notable one).
Its really a matter of opinion, but I think lightspeed blitz (and its the sword doing the work so you don't get tired) is better than just one huge blast that eats up your stamina like crazy!
...if you actually had to give a serious explanation of Soul Eater Excalibur; then it would be that it gives off a psychic emanation of disgust in others; regardless of their situation.
This goes beyond "annoyance." When you live in a world of soul-consuming eldritch abominations; "annoying" wouldn't be enough to throw it away at every opportunity. (Which many have done while in the middle of being under attack by said monstrocities.)
Soul Eater's Excalibur is probably more useful than the Fate Excalibur, but that's not counting the sheath Saber has in Fate. Avalon is an absolute defense against almost any conceivable form of attack...which begs the question, what kind of hell would you have to put up with in the Soul Eater universe to get something like that?

You mean like in Fate/Zero? How many times did she spam it there again? Fact is, she can't use it if even one of her arms is injured (she needs to swing it at full power with both arms to create the huge blast), and even then it's too powerful to just spam in the middle of a city unless you don't give a damn about civilian casualties. It's powerful as all hell, but way too unwieldly.
Lightspeed blitz is more convenient in that regard (assuming you could stand the little thing for more than a minute).

Fate/Zero isn't really the best example since, even if Saber's arms were fine, Kiritsugu probably would not have allowed her the luxury, let alone the chance, as he preferred not to use her or her powers unless it was appropriate to his plans.
Saber has had other masters than Shirou and Kiri. If you don't know how she's been in the hands of others, please give the visual novels a thorough play.

Rin had her but they also didn't use Excalibur there as well in UBW.
And in Heaven's Feel, Dark Sakura got her and her Excaliburbwas tanked by Bellapharon & Rho Aius working together IIRC.
