Though I think most of the the Ducks and Ducklings are house trained, I don't want to imagine how unhygienic the Convent is, not to mention how much it would stink.

Ducks, like many birds, do not have rectums, and cannot control when they defecate. This is why, despite some birds being incredibly intelligent, you can't really potty train them.
