Note that both of Gimlet's eyes are drawn differently. This matches up with the actual horse who has rather uneven eyes. The right eye is considered the "cute" eye, with a prominent iris, while the left one is the "fierce" eye which has whites perpetually visible.

This difference in eyes is the inspiration for his Umamusume counterpart wearing an eyepatch.
