Yomi. (Mizuhara Koyomi)
This is... Yomi (Mizuhara Koyomi), a character appearing in Azuma Kiyohiko's "Azumanga Daioh". Even if it doesn't look like her.
Well, that always ends up being the case, but somehow this version of "Yomi" seems to have come from a different media format somehow... (T_T).
The first panel of volume 3, page 141, "Language of Violence", and "Takochuu!?" gave me heart to draw her impulsively... (sweat).
My favorite characters are this "Yomi" and also "Yukari-sensei", so I'd like to draw her too... I get the feeling that my version of her would resemble the original even less though...
I heard that the first volume has had over 20 printings (which is great!). I wonder if the first volume I have at home is valuable...
As for the expression of Sakaki's eyes on the cover of volume 3... I don't think I've ever drawn anything like that before...
I originally drew this in high resolution (more than 2000 pixels wide), so it was bit difficult to scale it down, and I ended up losing more detail than I had anticipated...
On my computer, when I'm thinking about printing something, I almost always use the same colors for print as well as on-screen display now... However normal computer users won't have the same color settings that I do, so in fact the illustrations I post on my webpage end up getting displayed way darker than they should on Windows with the standard settings... As a result I made a concious effort to lighten the colors this time... How do you think it worked out?
