  • SMITE - Azure Sea Tiamat

Tiamat Recolor Splash Art done for SMITE's #GoddessOfTheSaltSea update!
In this composition, I tried to portray Tiamat's rage and sadness when she called Marduk, the one who killed her husband, according to the lore. It is also the moment when Tiamat transformed into her Sea Dragon form, which is why I put transforming effects on her body.
This one is particularly exciting for me because I dig anything dragon - god - angel wings related stuff, and this one has it all.
I enjoyed everything from the storytelling exploration to the final render.
I definitely learned a lot from painting this one, like how to apply detail and rest tempo, managing the local and overall colors, transformation effects, also painting waves.
I got help from Jefrey Yonathan for the sketch phase, he made the E and F thumbnails.
