Anothe good common example of black agenda to alter character lol doesn't even looks like a cosplay its just the artist self-inserting herself into the character.
She doesn't even look south american, which I think is where Natlan is supposed to mimic.
Natlan? Sounds more like mesoamerican for me, which would be Central America, with some immigration from the north (should be around south of the United States). Ultimately depends if Natlan is Mayan (aka native), or Mexicatls (aka immigrants from the north). Given the name, I suspect the later, since Mexicatls seem to have a fondness for the "atl", through I think Mexicatls aren't the only one that went south, so maybe Natlan will be inspired by the Tarasques (that Wikipedia call Purépecha Empire, dunno why). I'd be really surprised if Natlan was inspired by southern cultures.

Considering there's a character named Xbalanque that's playable, it at least has some Mayan inspiration.

I don't know enough about Mayans to comment on that, my fascination goes to Aztecs. But it'd be nice if they're differents, and not all mixed together. I like mesoamerican history, but I get autistically annoyed when it's all mixed together.

I got curious so I googled it. Xbalanque might not even be Mayan. I'm not really qualified to talk about it in details, but Xbalanque seem to be a K'iche' mythological hero, one of the two "Mayan Twins". I'm not exactly sure what K'iche's are in relation to the Mayans, but apparently, Xbalanque is their creation. The funny part is that Xbalanque and Hunahpu are both fighting against the Xibalba death gods, One Death and his mate Seven Deaths, through clever tricks and tactics. There's probably no need to go too much in detail, I doubt Mihoyo will actually refer the myths, but it involves stuff like sleeping in your blowdart to avoid Cama Zotz, the lord of bats, being murdered, burned and have your ashes poured in a magical river that revives you, and playing ball with your head. Mayans (and K'ilche's) mythology is actually very fun, you know what? I might read some more about it.
