i know i read a couple of warhammer 40k books(helsreach,the grey knights omnibus),the emporer's about 38k?(im just guessing from the dialogue i can remember),but i figured people followed him because of his age,NOW i see its because of his age,wisdom,AND badassery

One can easily see why the Imperials keep wanting to venerate the Immortal Emperor. How can they not, when he looks this awesome?

Actually the Emperor is more than 41 thousand years old. He was born way before Anno Domini.

Currently the emperor is in a semi-alive state hooked to the "golden throne" which is a machine that artificially extends his life in a semi-conscious state. He continues to lead mankind through sheer force of will and badassery (seriously, he's still alive because he just doesn't WANT to die).
