Deus-Helios, that statement is so true that it is sickening. Few artists opt for the pure lesbian route.

On the flip side yuri pairings are actually more popular and more numerous in Japan since Lucky Star first came out than yaoi and hetero pairings. Though this mostly seems to stem from the fact that most Japanese males don't recognize the lost of virginity achieved with lesbian sex disgustingly enough so within Japan's massive male otaku population (and it's lesbian pop.) girlxgirl is the way to go. You've probably heard of this but it's supposedly acceptable for schoolgirls to have romantic pursuits with each other but after graduation they're expected to 'mature' and 'graduate' to boys and get married as virgins. Anyone who stays interested in girls is seen as immature and needs to grow out of girls and into boys. Still plenty of homophobia though but a lot less than other countries.

Oh definitely true. I'm just stating what I believe is the present trend. Which is probably a contributing factor to Japan's sadly declining population. Though probably not as big as say serious family planning and high living rates.

But it doesn't stop otaku and authors though. Kannagi apparently lost a huge amount of popularity after it was revealed that Nagi wasn't a virgin. Fiction is after all not reality but the representation of a cultures set of ideals.

It's like hentai stereotypes. With the vast majority of hentai material pouring out of Japan you'd think that it's a country full of pedophiles, perverts and rapists but unless there's really a lot of cover-ups going on Japan has one of the lowest crime rates and rape rates in the world.

I'm pretty sure there's a more complex reason behind Japan's declining population than that.

Both Nippon and America (not the declining birthrate which has been going on for quite some time but the "Few women wait"). That's the ONLY reason I am not married.

The Nagi info made me nod my head. It makes since that she would lose many fans for that reason. Even if it is a fictional character people will still think higher of them if they are "untouched".

It is, they include high living costs, the desire to wait longer before having kids, better family planning and so and so forth. It's pretty complicated. It might change but probably not any time soon.

Do you mean to say that it's hard to find a spouse or that you're waiting till you're ready? I'm actually late already, I expected to have my career set by now but it ended up being a lot harder so I haven't been able to get married myself. Personally I don't truly understand the above problem though. I know it's there and why it's there but I just understand why.

He is referring to a large majority of doujins from anime that feature an all female cast. Faceless, nameless males who are only there to screw the characters seem to plague the doujin world, that and "Surprise! Penis!" doujins.
