Not what I'd ever expect from pageratta, outside of a few facial expressions. It was very good.
My take on it is that the father was dying anyway, so he disguised himself as a monster in the village to test her/give her some confidence about her miko abilities. I felt like the father could have been a bit more clear that he was leaving her on her own, and I don't know why he waited a whole week to make a ruckus in the village.

Yeah, that was my take too. Well, according to the title this is just volume 1, so maybe there will be a sequel. I doubt it'll explain things with the father any better though. Probably it'll just show us Reimu and Marisa's first big incident or something like that. Maybe even the first time they met Yuuka (Reimu's dialogue against Yuuka in PoFV mentions that she once stopped an incident where Yuuka was the culprit)?

That happened in one of the PC-98 games, the fourth one, I believe. She was the final boss of it. However, if pageratta explored the PC-98 games and all those old characters, it would be awesome.
My take on it is that Reimu's father knew he was going to turn into some kind of youkai so he left her on her own, but when he was defeated he returned his sanity.
