She kind of reminded of Vera Milligan from Reign of the seven spellblades. Though at least Milligan's excuse would be she was raised twisted instead of breaking under pressure.
I think Red Shoes was intended to be like a twisted mirror version of Rapunzel. The sad irony that the illness Rapunzel was desperately trying to cure was deliberately made so much worse by Red Shoes, who appears to have worked with Rapunzel before becoming a Nikke.
I feel sad, because at first sight I thought "Wow, she's hot, I want her on my team someday!" Well, that's the way the cookie crumbles. Irredemable. She might be the fastest hated character in the story, and the one with the worst reaching consequences to her actions...
One thing to consider is that the general kindness she expressed to her teammates probably wasn't simply entirely her pretending either though. If she had previously worked with Abe, then had she behaved wildly different from the past then Abe probably would have caught on that something was wrong with her.
