The wife of the Emperor of Heaven, the Queen Mother of Heaven, was furious when she learned that the Emperor of Heaven had cheated on her. She ordered the Emperor of Heaven to issue an edict: Chang'e had committed adultery in the Heavenly Court, had seduced the Holy Heart, had violated the Heavenly Law, and her crime was unforgivable. She was thrown into the Heavenly Prison and tortured day and night.
