What bothered me about this scene was that she pulled the pin off with her teeth. I'm not usually anal about this kind of thing, but then again, this is magical future grenades so I don't know

I never realized until now, the similarities between Homura and Kiritsugu. Both use guns and explosives with their magic. And both came form the same writer too! Can't be a coincidence.

smells like something you put into a fanfic, imagine homura as a relative of kiritsugu or even worse his reïncarnation.

I mean its not too far fetched haha. They both use time manipulation magic, are pretty handy with weapons and are generally seen as pessimistic.

Same writer? No, Nasu did not write anything for Madoka. The writer was a fan of his.

Fate/Zero was written by Gen Urobuchi, not Nasu.

Kiritsugu was Nasu's creation, including his magic/fighting style.

Fate/zero is a light novel written by Gen Urobuchi with illustrations by Takashi Takeuchi. It is set as a prequel to Type-Moon's visual novel Fate/stay night. The first volume was released on December 12, 2006, and the fourth and final volume was released on December 29, 2007[2]

Urobuchi wrote the novel, but only within the constraints Nasu gave him. As far as I know, Kiritsugu's character design was already done (or mostly done) by Nasu before Urobuchi entered the picture.

Fate/Zero was written by Gen Urobuchi, as was the story for Madoka. He did write them within the constraints of Nasu's writing. Furthermore, the basic character of Kiritsugu, including his fighting style, was introduced very briefly in Fate/Stay and Fate/Hollow. However, fully fleshing out the character was pretty much left to Gen Urobuchi, from my understanding, and since Nasu did approve of it, Kiritsugu was then created as such. I do believe that Homura takes very much from Kiritsugu, especially since the story comes from the same writer as Fate/Zero. This upload actually made me realize that the two were tied together like that. CRAZY!

You can really see how Fate/Zero sowed the seeds for Madoka when you read the Afterwords and such. Hell, he even mentions entropy and heat death in the afterword to the first novel.
