It's a pretty dumb question, though. Artists aren't in the habit of drawing alternate character-less versions of their works, and if there was, it would be on Pixiv, where you could easily find it for yourself.

As the old saying goes, there's no such thing as a dumb question.

And in any case, there could have been an alternate version that simply wasn't uploaded yet: that's why I asked.

No you aren't since most artists do not create alternate versions of their works, in this context, without characters.

If it what you really want, you honestly have a better chance asking the artist himself even though it is only likely to happen if you're willing to commission such a variation.

Nitori is present. It's safe to assume the gears are her doing. She has an almost Dwemer-like knack for bending the laws of physics to her whim.

I'm not religious, but what is the painting, "The Last Supper" without it's cast? (Which are Jesus and numerous other christian saints and such) Just an empty stone table in a downtrodden Roman controlled district.

Not the case here you might think, as the scenery itself is attractive, but to some, including the person who drew it, Nitori and Aya were the only two he/she wanted to be sitting in this painting forever frozen in loft.

Examples:
1. What am the sky?
2. How does eat food?
3. Is there a version of this picture without the characters?
4. Why is pain feel bad?

There is always the option of photoshopping it yourself.
Downvoting and/or saying your question is dumb is a quick (albeit not so friendly) way of telling you the answer to your question is no, and that the answer is very obvious, you should probably learn to recognize it.

On the other topic, the gears might be attached to the trees, a close inspection is needed.
