I'm seriously having trouble figuring this out...Shou set up a barrier so that lower class beings can't see her, but Ran set up a barrier so that beings of a higher class than her can see her. So would that make Shou a higher class than Ran and Ran being the same class as Shou?

Yep, that would make them the same class. It kind of makes sense (they both serve a higher being in Yukari and Byakuren), but then, it kind of doesn't...
