I've actually thought about this andthe best method for a Puella Magi to commit suicide by shooting would be to tape your Soul Gem to the muzzle of the gun and then aim for your head. That way, one bullet travels through the gem and into your head, killing both your body and soul.

I don't think Colt ever made a double action 1911. This is probably supposed to be a Colt Double Eagle, which has some similarities to a 1911, but is a different model altogether.
