Now with insane smug levels, considering she's literally proudly wearing her historical banner with the certain words about the Japanese and IJN in particular.

I did not expect Shizuma to actually put that famous flag on her....
Not expected that either for sure, Yoshinori totally had massive balls to do this if it's not was just accident for the lack of knowledge.
Again Yoshinori delivered a good representation of Wahoo that exceeded my expectations from the rigging to the details like the ones that were in her pennant and broom, yeah that was a real quote from her crew.
Hopefully she references in her voicelines Morton's quote: "Another running gun battle today. Destroyer gunning, Wahoo running"
The Jean short shorts held by that one strap along with her general smug disposition is doing....things....to me. How long until she's put in a "Team Wahoo" shirt?
I think that's a jean miniskirt, rather than shorts. I don't see any lines curving to run between her legs, and the seam looks like it's continuing across. Changing tags accordingly.
Looks like KC had enough with the Japanese imperialist allegations that they brought up probably one of the most racist and unhinged anti-Japanese ships out there (her scarf says it all with her kill count marks).
Really digging that aggressive smug making the Gatos the most feared American ships.

I think they were jean pants that she cut above the inseam and put the legs of them over her boots. I guess it's technically a miniskirt now though.
A shame that a little broom wasn't added to the periscope she's sporting (though to be fair, that seems to be the night periscope rather than attack, which the broom was fitted to). Overall I'm a fan, though I dunno how to feel about the cloth addition to her boots and the jean miniskirt. Maybe the fanart will change my mind about the latter. Either way, I'm happy to see another Gato.
Wow. Unlike Tone or I-8, she actually looks like she's about to commit war crimes.
Both the quote on her scarf and the Oerlikon gun she's carrying are references to an actual event where Wahoo is alleged to have committed a war crime, so that fits.
Might be a bit of a stretch, but the head gear placement makes it look like wolf ears, and might be a play on her "The One-Submarine Wolf Pack" nickname.
