Could be an allegory for how the eye (her mind-reading ability) kills Satori socially. I got nothing on the IV drip though. A parasite Satori can't kill or remove maybe?
It would seem that Satori is trying to kill herself, but she appears to be on a sort of "forced" life support from the very thing that pushes her towards the idea; her ability. It's killing her, yet not allowing her to die; you can make the argument that she is caught between two minds.
Whereas Koishi wanted to cut off her ability, Satori simply wants to die. ---
An interesting concept, I've wanted to write on it, from time to time, but never could get a page's worth out of the idea of Satori's disconnect with Koishi leading to her own deterioration. Might revisit that idea, one day, though.
