plain doll (bloodborne) drawn by ruinetsel

Artist's commentary

  • Original
  • Routine maintenance.

Just a headcanon that the Doll maintains and fixes herself.

I drew this tea cup purposefully in the composition because I love the idea of

    1) the doll drinking, or at least miming drinking, tea

    2) the contrast of a comforting drink next to gross guts and gore (what is hygiene???)

    3) who taught the Doll to take tea? Is it a vestige of Maria’s habits, did Gehrman play tea party with the Doll, or did the hunter teach her? Maybe she even keeps tea for the hunter to drink when they visit, to comfort them on a weary night. What if then, through association, tea is a gesture of comfort for herself too? Even if she cannot physically drink, the act preparing tea would be a ritual of comfort.

    4) in short this is the equivalent of a spa day for her, bathing in the tub with a glass of wine
